How to Overcome Evil

What in the world can stop this hate?  

What in the world could end violence?  

What in the world cures disease?  

Answer: Nothing of this world can do any of those things. 

But someone who overcame this world has the power to come back and take it away.  

I realize this sounds wack-a-doodle to some but to be quite honest nothing that this world has to offer sounds even the least bit hopeful. Presidents, law enforcement, mayors, businessmen/women, even pastors do NOT give options to heal this world or even this country. But you know what, no one will ever get on board with something that one person or a like-minded group of people suggest. 

Which is why Jesus doesn’t ask your permission for being Savior. This is why the God of all creation did not first make Adam and Eve and ask “How do you think we should structure this planet? Which should come first, light or dark?” The Lord of all the Universe wanted one thing in His strategically made world, YOU. He wants you.  And because He asks of you to follow Him; He promises great reward. The risk of the unknown has benefits that outweigh the said risk. A reward of freedom in this life as well as a reward of happiness and joy in eternity. And when we begin to model Christ we can experience moments of peace in this world. 

I think that when we love each other a little more we can see glimmers of hope. When we stop for a moment thinking this country is “ours” and that “outsiders” are not welcome and begin remembering we too were once outsiders we may start to feel a tiny bit of peace. When we can start speaking out LOUDLY and BOLDLY about true morally, humanly, earthly damaging problems instead of fueling so much rage over petty controversy we may actually see life the way  it was intended. 

There is only one way out of the Hell that is this world. The way? Jesus. And I’ll just leave it right there.
